4x4 Route
This is an easy trail and takes about two hours to complete. This trail is ideal for the less experienced hiker. A natural pool, in which you can take a cooling swim, forms part of the trail.
This walk takes about one hour. The potholes can be compared with Bourke's Luck Potholes, but would be more spectacular in the wet season. There are some interesting bushman paintings on this route.
This trail is more strenuous, taking 4 hours to complete. It takes you through some spectacular rock formations about midway. It is suggested that you wear long trousers as the bush scratches your legs severely.
The 4x4 route on Gifberg will take some intermediate skill to get you through rocks, some ups and downs as well as sandy places. The 11 km long route will take you to the Doring river. Camping is permitted on the banks of the Doring River. It is advised that you arrange with the owner beforehand. The same route will get you back, but the scenery and magnificent view will give you a whole new perspective of the area.

This trail and the return hike takes nine hours hiking, plus time spent at the Doring River. You can swim in the river. The walk follows a watercourse that looks like the Fish River Canyon on a smaller scale. You walk along the edge of the watercourse and later descend into the valley to walk along the river. Several interesting Bushman painting sites are passed on the way.
